Photo frame using waste CD’s

By on August 20, 2017

CD’s are a common waste these days and can be found at everyone’s house. But did you know these CD’s are no more waste. They can be reused to make a beautiful wall décor. This is really easy to make and you all will love making it.

Following are the steps to recreate this:

  1. Collect few CD’s depending on the size of frame you want to make(I have used 8 for mine).
  2. Now collect as many photos as the CD’s.
  3. Cut the pics in semi-circular shape. We are going to make circular frame. You can choose any shape like diamond or a heart, etc and cut the photos according to the shape of your frame.
  4. Now start placing the CD’s one over the other in a circular manner. Leave space for one CD in the centre.
  5. You can use hot glue gun or fevicol for the above step. Keep the frame untouched for a day as fevicol takes time to stick.
  6. Now place a CD in the centre of the frame in such a way that it touches all the base CD’s. This way CD’s will keep sticking together and the central CD will serve as an upper support.
  7. Now cut a cardboard in circular shape and place below the CD’s to give lower support.
  8. Also, cut a small size ribbon and paste underneath the cardboard for hanging the frame.
  9. Now we are just one step away from a beautiful frame. Apply some decorative material. I have used glass stones and pearl chain. This is easily available at gift shops or stationery.
  10. Woohhoo!! Our frame is ready. Recall your beautiful memories with this beautiful frame.

Decorative Wall Hanging Using Cardboard And Foil Paper

By on

Cardboard is a bulk waste in every house. How nice it would be if we could reuse this waste. Of course , It’s possible. This beautiful wall hanging will end your tension of dealing with cardboard waste.

Steps:

  1. Take two cardboard sheets.
  2. Cut two or three squares (Cut as many squares as the size of wall hanging you want to make).
  3. Cut small circles equal in number to the squares used.
  4. Now paste the circles at the centre of squares.
  5. Take foil paper, crush it well and paste it over the cardboard(squares).
  6. Now take a pen and scroll it over the pasted foil and around the circular piece so that foil is properly aligned with the cardboard.
  7. Now you can paste any decorative material to make your wall hanging beautiful. I have used some marriage cards to decorate it. Also, the stones at the border of the cardboard are easily available on any gift shop.

Steps to make bells:

  1. You can either use readymade bells for decorating this wall hanging or can make your own bells.
  2. I have made these bells using newspaper.
  3. Take a sheet of paper.
  4. Roll it using pencil or stick to form a paper straw.
  5. Now flatten the straw using your hand.
  6. Start rolling the flattened straw to form a hollow circle.
  7. Push slightly the inner side of the circle forms in step above. It will start forming a bell liked shape.

HARSH REALITY OF LIFE ON A PIECE OF GLASS

By on May 12, 2017

When glass, paints  and feelings are combined, they create amazing works of art.

I have created this glass painting which depicts the harsh reality of today’s life, i.e. people forget or are separated from their loved ones for the sake of money and when they turn back to earn their love ,the money earned is gone.

For making this painting certain things are required:-

  1. Clean piece of glass.
  2.  Glass liners.
  3. Paints.
  4. Paintbrushes.
  5. Nail polish remover.
  6. One white sheet of paper.

STEPS TO FOLLOW (Reference images shown at the bottom):

  1. Take a white sheet of paper as per the size of your glass.
  2. Draw the required picture on the paper.
  3. Clean the glass surface using either soap water, vinegar or alcohol and allow it to dry naturally.(I have used nail paint remover for the same)
  4. Now place the glass over the design.
  5. Draw the design with glass outliner and let it dry for atleast 2 hours.
  6. Squeeze the bottle gently and start filling the colors in the design.(Do not shake the bottle before use)
  7. If bubbles form, break them with a pin or needle.
  8. Do not touch the painting until dry (for 24 hours) to prevent finger prints on the design.
